EATING DISORDER

MATTER

For this project, the topic of Eating Disorders Matter developed into a multi-media editorial, hand-bound at a large-scale publication that explores the symptoms of eating disorders and the history of such diagnoses and statistics. Further helping those with such a diagnosis and their supporters to understand it. The written content for such publication was developed through research, culling together different sources, and an Introduction I wrote. The visual elements for the publication include an organizational grid, a typographic system, a defined visual language, infographics, and data visualization, which together create a compelling visual narrative.

Such a design concept was made to resemble a personal journal with a realistic paper background for the pages, as well as the handwritten font style and hand-drawn illustrations done by me. Including famous women in the editorial was intended to show that even famously known strong women have suffered with such a diagnosis and learned to handle it just like any other man or woman.
